National Bomb Data Centre of the NSG is holding its 12th International NBDC Seminar, from 15 Feb to 17 Feb 2012 in the scenic environs of its Manesar Campus.
Four Officers and men of the elite National Security Guard have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day, 2012.

The annual event of Inter CAPF Human Rights Debate Competetion-2011 was organized by NSG on 17 and 18 Nov 2011 at NSG garrison, Manesar under the aegis of National Human Rights Commission.

The National Security Guard was raised in 1984 to combat terrorism in all its facets. This elite Force celebrates its 27th Raising Day on 16th Oct 2011.
Four Officers and men of the elite National Security Guard have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Independence day, 2011.

NSG BLOOD DONATION CAMP ON 03 AUG 2011.
A Voluntary blood donation camp was organized by the National Security Guard the elite black cat commando of India in association with Rotary Club of Delhi and Rotary Blood Bank.

11th INTERNATION NBDC SEMINAR 09 to 11 FEB 2011.
1. National Bomb Data Centre is the only one of its kind institution working in the Country, which records, collects and analyzes all bombing incidents, not only within the Country, but also the salient ones across the world. The data analysis is then put to use in training security agencies, thus assisting in defeating the nefarious designs of those anti-national elements who use IEDs etc to kill or maim innocent persons and damage property. NBDC also assists security agencies by carrying out several backend jobs, such as giving advisories, doing post blast investigations, training their trainers, conducting specialised capsules for major events like the Common Wealth Games and so on.
2. National Bomb Data Centre is an important constituent of the elite National Security Guards. NBDC experts on detection and safe disposal of improvised explosive devices IEDs work silently behind the scenes, monitoring bombing incidents in the country and cataloging the various aspects of these explosive devices. Myriad strains of terror exist in various parts of the country with varying political ideologies, and this is reflected in their tactics, modus operandi and the design of the IEDs. The terrorists are constantly on the look out for newer ways to spread terror and, therefore, keep upgrading their IED making knowhow and technology, consequently making it imperative that security agencies upgrade their knowledge and skills in handling these devices. Shri R.K. Medhekar, IPS has assumed the charge of Director General, National Security Guard on 1st Sept. 2010.
Shri R.K. Medhekar is a 1975 batch IPS officer of Kerala cadre. His important appointments include Commissioner of Police, Trivandrum City, deputation with Cabinet Secretariat, Govt. of India, head of State Intelligence and State Crime branch, ADGP Law & Order Kerala, DG, Home Guard and Civil Defence, Commandant General, Fire Force, Kerala. Before assuming charge of DG, NSG he was holding charge of Spl DG, BSF East & Anti-Naxal operation HQ.
Shri R.K.Medhekar was awarded Police Medal for Meritorious service in 1992 and President’s Police Medal for Distinguished service in 2004.
